Andy's Zeugs SLO Preamp - Any experience?

Is anyone familiar with this SLO preamp project? https://andyszeugs.wordpress.com/high-gain-guitar-preamp-slo/ Apparently there's been a kit available at MusikDing since 2008 but I can't really find much in terms of user reviews. Sounds pretty cool though. Apparently it's the SLO preamp section with individual EQ sections per channel. Documentation is in German only which is not a problem since I'm German

Not familiar but it looks like a great kit. The price is very reasonable.

Seems cool and this is something I have been looking for , for a while… my only hesitation would be a kit from Musikding-dong. Seems like 50% of the troubleshooting threads here start with “ I bought a kit from musikding.” And that’s enough for me to go another route like a scratch build. But for about the same price I think I would get a used synergy unit instead

Having bought a few pedal kits from Musikding, I have never had a problem. The owner, Klaus, is also extremely responsive.

The Musikding kit is for the Anvil it seems though, which is a slightly modified version of the pure SLO preamp. By itself it doesn't look that bad to build really. The turrets are pcb mounted so that's one painful part out of the way. I agree but if you ask them it has nothing to do with their craftsmanship.. and there have been cases where their kits have legitimately had questionable part selection.

The kits seem okay mostly. Parts are usually whatever's cheapest and there may be some questionable substitutes here or there but it's okay for dipping your toes imo. My problem is mostly with incomplete orders and poor communication. I've been waiting for 5 knobs as part of an order from June I think. I think I heard 3 times so far that they'll be here "next week". Right Haven't ordered since but now am tempted again.

They got both. The SLO preamp is listed as "High Gain Tube Preamp".

I saw these are also available as PCB only. Maybe I'll go that route.
