Bit of head scratcher and was wondering if anyone can help. I’m building 2 Low Tides at the moment and one of them is giving me some trouble. I built one a couple of years ago so I have a fully working one to compare with.
The problem I am having is no wet signal. Have checked all the voltages on the schematic, and seem close enough pretty much the same as the working one. So I did an audio probe and am getting a signal into IC7 (V3207D), but no sound out, just very scratchy. Tried the gate and BBD trims with no luck. I swapped all the IC’s and transistors from the working one and still the same problem, and they all seem OK in the working one. I also checked all the resistors and capacitors and they seem OK. I also compared the readings of all resistors in circuit on both and pretty much the same. One other thing on the working one I can earth the probe on the out jack, but can not on the one not working I need to attach it to one of the pot terminals for it to work.
The other one I'm building seems fine so far just waiting for a couple of resistors to arrive as I put the wrong values in. I can still run the same test as above. This one is fine and as the working one, I can also ground to the out jack socket. I also tried all the IC’s and transistors from this one to the one not working and still the same.
Any ideas on what I should try next. Everything reflowed.
