Anyone build something like a Gig Rig Humdinger?

I'm not interested in A/B, but just the Y part. The Gig Rig humdinger is basically what you need if you want to run two amps at once. It has phase inversion switch and an earth lift switch.

I found this schematic but I mean, it's just a Google Search so no way of verifying it.

I'm no expert on this topic, but I will say I've seen some dodgy klodges out there, such as 2 x DPDT switches with the bats screwed together via a strip of metal, instead of just getting a proper 4PDT.


BYOC's Amp Selector could be built as a "both amps always-on", but I'd keep the switching myself just for versatility's sake.

For running two amps into one cab, what seems to come up again and again is to make sure your switching is break before make, but I guess this doesn't apply if you're having both amps always on together. Make-before-break is a no-no.

This will give me a lot to go through, thanks! Look at the BYOC schematic, it seems quite similar to the link in my OP, however it doesn't appear to have phase switching which seems like a massive oversight? There's like a 50% change your amps will be out of phase without it. Some amps have the button on them, but most don't.

Maybe there's someone on the BYOC forum who's added in the phase switch?

At least you wouldn't be starting from scratch — Easier to mod stuff than come up with it from scratch, in most cases.
