Anyone's got a good source for mn3011 BBD chips?

Thinking of making a couple of clones of the lastgasp transroom reverb and I need about 6 of them for a small oshpark run. I know that banzai has some for sell but they are pretty expensive :/. Maybe someone knows a ebayer or aliexpress store that sells genuine mn3011 ? My hopes for one is pretty slim since those BBD are pretty much never used in diy projects :( but I gotta ask !!!

I would also like to know this for the same reason! I'm only building a single Transroom so I only need 2 but I'm not finding them anywhere but Banzai for 30EUR a pop. Anybody had any luck since this was posted?

Well, according to this page, win source has em.

Though I've never used these folks. Trustpilot rating checks out, but proceed with caution.

They give out free samples!
Just checked it with scamadviser.net for safety and it appears to be a safe site. I registered at the win-source.net site and requested four of the MN3011 BBD chips. Then I scrolled around the site for more information about the company. That's when I found an old familiar name that has previously known for tons of spam - Freda King. So while the site may be reporting as safe from a scam detection service, I'm wary of the association with Freda King. Let's see what happens with the request for samples. I'll report back when/if I hear anything. The company is out of China, so I suspect they will be fakes or not available. Yeah, I'm suspicious that way.

Update on my request for samples of the MN 3011 BBD chips from Win-Source.net earlier today . . . . .

When I registered, I used a brand new GMail account and the spam has already started rolling in. So, I don't think Win-Source is such a solid resource to pursue such an unobtanium device like an MN3011.

And I've still not heard back anything about my request.

So here it is only 6 am on Sunday morning after registering with Win-Source.net with a brand-spanking new GMail account, and according to GMail . . . . . I now have 6 different cloud storage accounts, 2 MS Office & 8 McAfee subscriptions, 8 different streaming & 2 different phone services, and 2 different auto insurance companies that are suddenly expired, "billing refused" or cancelled. None of which I subscribe to nor have accounts with.

Still no word on the parts request.

In summary, I suspect Win-Source.net is NOT a safe site to visit or conduct business with. China is living up to their reputation.

And this morning I finally get response from Win-Source; a small questionnaire for which to reply . . . .

"Thank you for your interest in requesting samples from us.
To help us review your request more efficiently and support you in the most suitable way, could you please share a bit more information below?

  • Do you plan to place a bulk order after sample evaluation? If so, what would be the estimated quantity?
  • Will the parts be used for a new project or ongoing production? Do you have a tentative timeline for the bulk order?
  • Do you have an express shipping account (DHL, UPS, or FedEx)? If not, we can suggest a cost-effective shipping option.
  • If samples are provided, would you be open to sharing brief feedback with us after evaluation?
Once we receive this information, we’ll proceed accordingly.
Thank you, and we look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Carmen
"

This concludes my dealings with them. TI and other vendors that provide samples typically just send them because they already know that what follows is completely dependent on the outcome of the sample analysis. We pedal builders are not even in the big leagues and know that some parts are just simply no longer available. One might think they'd be on top of such availability. They're just phloundering in what seems to be an industrial sized phishing expedition.

I went through a bunch of some small specialized repair shops where I've been able to source some rare bits and bops over time, but these ICs seem to be entirely gone.

Banzai ran out of em as well.

Any interest in selling some of yours?
Sorry to get back to you so late.
Yes I can spare 5-10 of them
These are from what I can tell the very last of them I got. I had to literally get these from a guy that works directly with Tom Scholz. These ones came from one of Toms wearhouses.
These are NOS from 1986. Myself and Cybercow use them in our X100 pedal clone. They were originally intended to be used in Tom Scholz Rockman builds.
Anyway let me know how many you need and im sure we can come up with a fair price.

I have no idea why these havent been re released yet. The MN3007 clones sell like hot cakes! Im sure these would sell like crazy. They are very unique and the only analog reverb chip there is as far as I know.

Here is the Pedal Cybercow and I make that use the MN3011 chip

How do I contact you? Tried to send you a DM but it won't let me.
