Baby's first Stripboard

It all started with @Fuzzonaut report of the MST Swamp Lord. Report Here

I started trying to convert it to the Muffinator and I hit a wall and said, Why don't I just build it on Vero? So got a bunch of boards and started with something small like the EQD Speaker Cranker. First I want to say I am super grateful for all the info just on this forum. @BuddytheReow guide was super helpful along with @owlexifry . I was super happy when it fired up first try. Pic attached.

Aside from working with nasty fiberglass it's really not bad. I'm well on my to the Swamp Lord Doom.

Shoutout to all the super helpful people here on this forum. You rule.

Awesome. This reminds me I should probably make a tutorial how to design a stipboard layout.
Yes yes yes!! I'd love that.

I weirdly started with stripboard at the same time I was putting together pcbs for the first time. Even just cutting them down cleanly is a chore (mask up! eew). Still, I have to say I really like it. I've only done one perfboard build and it went pretty well too - it's a challenge just to try to use component legs to make most connections on the underside. Lotsa needlenose plier work! BA Pep Fuzz:

Going back to stripboard, I fiddled with DIYLC and felt my brain dissolving in my skull. It's quite a puzzle to keep noise down and limit the size of the vero, seems like. I got some good pointers when I posted about it recently (from you and others), but... it still hasn't quite clicked.

Here's that thread, in case anyone wants to see some tips from Buddy and Co: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/best-practices-for-schematic-to-vero.23989/

The tutorial will pretty much be "how to make a puzzle" with really just some pointers. It's kind of like breadboarding: there are multiple ways to get the same circuit working. I will do a "follow along" for handholding.
