BD-2 on perfboard : Trying to add a simple status led [SOLVED]

Hello,

I am close to finish this build. There are still some issues (not enough gain), but right now, I am focusing on the status led.

I am using a pedalpcb switchboard (there is no "BP" pad on mine) and I wonder how can I add the led with it. The layout I am using doesn't provide anything for the led.

layout :

Here are some pics (big black cap underboard is a 150n designed for higher voltage, I couldn't find a small one).

Any help would be welcome !

I think you'd come off the SW pad to the LED, into a CLR to GND...I'd have someone verify this.

Thanks, I got the led working !

Now i might post a new thread about the tone control section not working properly (it acts like a volume control).

Edit : Hunting for shorts, I will post if i am really stuck...

Sounds like a ground may be missing, We’d have to see a schematic to be sure though.

Let's see if I can swing and miss again....

I think the tone control has 10n-> pin 1, sweep -> pin 1 of Level, and Pin 2 -> 10n->GND.

I just found the issues, i am kind of ashamed...Let's face it, I was confusing the pots and took the volume for the tone ! I am sorry... There was also a doubt about the underboard cap shorting the circuit when I boxed it. I desoldered it and put it on the usual side of the board.

Everything 's perfect now, my first build without a solid pcb... Sounds amazing. Thanks anyway !

I am still scratching my head on one last thing : the diode switch doesn't give any audible difference.

I read about this mod :

"D3 Change this 1SS133 to a different (1N4002) diode for asymmetrical clipping. This adds second order harmonics. This adds to the tube type sound. I like the sound of this change.

D7 D8 D9 and D10 Change 2 of of these diodes from 1SS133 to a single 1N4002. More second order harmonic distortion. Although the change is slight, I like it. We actually take out one of the two pairs and replace it with a single 1N4001."

from http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2013/03/boss-bd2-blues-driver.html

So i tried the first part with one 1N5817 vs 1N4148 on a switch, but I can't hear it...Maybe I should try with a germanium diode instead ?

Edit : I've wired the switch on the upper 1N4148 close to the TL71 ( see the effectlayout link in the first post), both negative sides toward the switch's outer terminals.
