Blackstar amped 3 midi switching

Hi all , so I have recently bought a blackstar amped 3 , and also have a Harley Benton fxl8 switcher .. and what I am wanting to do is change the channels on the blackstar using the switcher via the midi function ( btw I have never used midi before ) ..
So I have watched many videos , spoken to Harley Benton and programmed the switches as suggested , but yet I can still not get it to work .. has anyone managed to do this before

Let me dig thru my notes and get to my rig this weekend. I'm using the Blackstar midi controller (I suspect its about the same as the HB) on my Amped 2. I use it's six switches to select the 3 channels, turn on/off the tuner, modulation, and boost.
