Build Docs Archive?

Hey hey, I've got a first(?) rev Black Eye (one long, rectangular, black PCB) from this year's mystery PiF, and I'm having a devil of a time finding a build doc.

Looked on the sbfx and c2cE sites, and the way back machine didn't have the Google Docs link archived for the product page

Maybe I'm not good at using the forum search tools, if it's here…

Maybe a sticky with archived build docs would be a fun addition

I must have missed that one, that's what you get for arriving late to the party.
Archived build docs ? This makes me wonder what I might have missed out on in the past, I would love to see any old build docs as it's a way of learning more stuff for an old fart like me.

Had to do some digging and it turned out to be on a different computer, but I found it. Note that this board was not designed as well as it should have been and is prone to oscillation with the gain cranked. This can be fixed with a buffer up front and I designed a footswitch with an onboard buffer for this purpose, let me know if you want one and I can get one your way.

Thanks for this! I sent a message through the Sushi Box website asking for this doc, but then found it here. I also have the OG Blackeye with some oscillation even after going to shielded offboard wiring. Do you still have the buffer board available? I'm happy to pay for it.

Hey @vigilante398 I have a v1 black eye board and the buffer footswitch. Thinking of getting parts for it in my next parts order, but I was wondering if you know if the oscillation issue is also less of an issue with lower gain tubes? 12AY7 or even 12AU7?

The oscillation issue is only an issue with the gain high, so lower gain tubes would definitely help. 12AU7 probably wouldn't sound great though.

The buffer footswitch takes care of it though, and you should be able to run it with 12AX7 with no oscillation if you're using the buffer footswitch.
