I definitely didn't need it but I built it anyway. I've already built the Steddi and Nobelium and love them both but I couldn't go on living with only 2 out of the 3 C2CE bass DI boxes in my possession.
This one is pretty similar to the Particle Accelerator tonally with the added utility (and interest) of a tube based DI. I've also built a PA and use it constantly in my headphone practice set up so using such a familiar pre that I can more easily gig/record with seemed like a really good idea. It's more flexible than the Nobelium (moar knobs!) and capable of some pleasant distortion. I'm still using my Nobelium on my main rig for now but the Tungsten will be a perfectly capable back up and will likely get used in a more minimalist pedalboard that I've been wanting to build in the future. Another tip of the hat to @vigilante398 thanks for making stuff like this available to us!
The enclosure is the recently added metallic black from Tayda. It's pretty light for black, more of a super dark gray but I'm really liking the result, the UV LEDs look pretty awesome to me. It's light enough for the black ink to show up so I'll definitely be ordering again.
