Can I use a 50k Trim pot

Can I use a 50k Trim pot in place of a 10K regular pot?

Looking to add a volume pot on a MXR micro flange pedal, found the mod online, pretty simple, I just don't want to order a single pot and if I use a trim pot I can keep it internal. Just wondering if it will get the job done. This pedal is unusable at this time because of the huge volume jump when engaged, but with this mod it sounds like other people have been able to control the output volume. Just wondering if the 50k will do the trick, this will be a set it and forget it setting.

that'll work fine, you will just have to make smaller adjustments as it will have a wider range.

That’s what I was thinking too but wanted to confirm before Mutilating my pedal.

Well dudes. It worked! Internal volume trim pot. This pedal was unusable because of the large volume jump when engaged. Now it’s set to unity. Super simple mod.
