Capacitor capers

I'm building a tube Fender blackface preamp with Sushi's HV power supply. I have watched a YT vid comparing Mallory 150's vs Sozo's and I'm a bit surprised by how audible the difference is, even on YT audio. The test is run thru two "identical" amps, each built with the competing caps in the tone stack. BUT given the wide tolerance spread of caps (5% +/- at best) they could be off by 10+% from one another. Not to mention the collective variance in the balance of the circuit, particularly when the pot settings were all "eyeballed". Watchyall think?

Attach a link. I tried a quick search with “YouTube, Mallory 150, Sozo” and there were a lot of hits.

it would be easy enough to check the capacitance of all caps before testing, (but I get that that wasn’t done). Caps can make a very big difference in sound, even in power supplies. So, I’m not that surprised.
