Hello everyone, this is probably mainly for builders in Europe...
Well I "designed" my own fuzz circuit (the core is fuzz face, but with many mods and stuff) which I sold 4 of at my country's marketplace. And all of the buyers wrote me that they really love it...
So I am thinking about starting a side bussines...
Well but there is this big catch in EU, CE Certification and ROHS.
So from what I studied it's all self certified.
ROHS is alright because I use all the certified components.
In the CE you need to have EMC, I already called some companies for advise or testing and it's quite pricey, about 1000+ USD (converted).
I will definitely pass this one too, since it's a simple circuit and partially a clone.
Well so now I don't know what to do, if I should just omit the CE on the first batch...
Or I can print it on the pedal since it's self certification and hope no one will need the documents for it.
I looked at some other builders, and it's usually a hit or miss, Hudson Broadcast has the CE marking. On Drunk Beaver pedals I didn't notice any marking. But if you have like 10 product lines of pedals, the cost of the certification would be insane :O
Anyone has any experience with this?
Thank you very much
