Cepheid: 220u cap

Hey guys, I am building the Cepheid and I only have these gigantic 50V 220u caps or much smaller 10V ones. I think the 10V should be OK since it’s just power filtering? Or I could use a smaller value like 120u, of which I have some that are not as gigantic and rated at 63V. Any thoughts?

If it was me I’d use the 220u if it fits, parallel 120u if they fit, a single 120u likely would be fine too, in that order. The 10v caps likely would be fine too but I’d rather over shoot the specs on caps.

Can you fit the 220uF on the backside of the PCB? Otherwise, I'd use the two 120uF in parallel. One on the top of the PCB, one on the bottom.

The 10V cap would probably be okay but it'd be running awfully close to it's breaking point.

I ended up with the large 220u. I think it’ll fit. I’m using one of @steviejr92’s enclosures which is a bit tighter in the front but there should be enough room in the back for the oversized cap. I am missing a few caps values so I won’t have a build report for a while. But I’m excited to be building again, it’s been a minute.
