Close Quarters for Box Caps

I have a project that needs 2 capacitors side by side and then a socket for an IC chip beside them. I have box caps and the one in between the already soldered socket and the already soldered other cap won't fit. Can I use cut off leads form other caps to solder to the remaining cap's leads, and extend the height so it will fit?

It's my first time dealing with this so I didn't even think it was an option. But, yeah, it's obvious now
