Creamery Static

I just finished a Creamery build, and am getting some static when Attack is high and Level is low (more when playing "hot"), could just be that the JFET likes to be hot in this pedal and one of those "that's just how it is" type things, but wanted a sanity check before I continue trying to figure out if something is wrong with it.

Update: I finished its twin and it sounds even worse than the first. Something is wrong with either my soldering job or the ICs, now to figure out which

Yes, I do believe that's normal. Mine straight-up distorts, so I think that's a function of the circuit itself.

Maybe somebody more knowledgeable than me can explain why compressors distort with certain settings, but I do know that's a thing.

At the very least when it's hot it sounds great! Now I gotta figure out why the 2nd one is constantly popping (I think the new solder I got is trash, there is something when I turn it on and move it around causing popping when it's turned on)
