So I breadboarded the abovementioned Silverface for a lark (and while I'm waiting for some PedalPCBs to arrive). I thought I'd make things permanent, so had to get from there to here:

I also wanted to solder the four pots (no, @Feral Feline, not the Four Tops

First breadboard attempt has as much spaghetti as a Shanghai Noodle Factory on a good day so I moved the 072 up into the middle of the board, which helped but didn't eliminate the noodles altogether. Next step was to deploy one of @Robert's permanent breadboards (details here): a brilliant invention on his part.
I aimed initially for a 125B but couldn't quite get the jacks to clear the top row of components, so opted for a 1590S in portrait mode.

Marginally better noodle-wise but I also remembered a lonely relay switching board that I'd forgotten I ordered awhile back: yet another fantastic idea on our esteemed constituent's part.

So here's the finished article, which I'm glad I started on breadboard because it sounds fab. Lots of headroom and Fender-ish toan available; IOW, it gets way loud and furry as it's dimed. FWIW I replaced the B25k low end pot with a C50k with a 51k resistor in parallel, so that the low end crunch becomes available more gradually rather than at the extreme end of the original.
As always, thanks for reading and wishing you well with whatever you plan and build.
