Deadend FX Reflektor low volume

I have finished building the thing, and while it sounds amazing with a boost of some kind after, without the boost there is a very significant volume drop as compared to bypass, such that it is only really usable on its own with the volume cranked, and even then, it seems to be about half as loud as unity. I have tested it with different 12AX7s, all of which work fine in other circuits, and no change. The next thing I was going to check are the cathode bypass caps, but I was wondering if anyone else had that issue / has a better idea as to what the issue might be.

I’m building this soon. Still sourcing the last few components. Not sure of a fix yet but if you post some pics here I’ll take a look. Just make sure they’re clear and from straight over the top of inside the enclosure. If we can’t get it fixed here or in another forum I would just send Dino at DeadEndfx a short concise message just saying what it’s doing and if he knows what it could be. He’s a helpful guy and knows a lot about all the projects he offers. I’ll take a look at the doc and schematic and post back later if I see anything that sticks out. Do the voltage test points look good? Also what AC power source are you using?

This video of Gearmandude shows the pedal hitting unity pretty easy so it’s gotta be some kind of snafu.
