This is the companion to the Genmaicha Overdrive, so most of the considerations I made for that one apply in this case.
On paper, this one is supposed to work better with single coils. I guess. I just know it sounds more usable out of the.. uhm.. box than the Genmaicha. The tone and tea controls are better balanced and it's "thinner" all around.
What the hell is going on inside? This time the tea control sits between Q1 and the NJM4580 and the tone is placed right next to the exit door. one of the two clipping diodes emits an ominous red light. Assuming they are clipping diodes. This time the Tea control seems to add some low end, as it should. Unless the schematics suggest otherwise.
Graphics-wise I used a Tayda candy red enclosure and played with transparency for the candy apple red body and headstock of the Jaguar in the character's hands. In my head I wanted a classic fender candy apple red + mint pickguard combo for this one, but the parts that should be mint are not particularly minty. Could have been a lot worse for sure. The joy of printing CMYK process colors blindly.
The ideograms on the left are "PedalPCB", "Ho", "Ji", "Cha". Hojicha is written in a funny way but I had no room for the common version.
