Village Idiot
This is kind of Part 1-ish.

I bought an old Morley Wah from my local Reverb web site for a $40 bill. I thought it was high for a shell, but this one still had it's ticker intact, and I link to tinker with intact tickers.

If you've never seen the Morley insides, here's your chance. Mostly ground plane emptiness. I noticed they subbed a 741 for the silkscreened TL071. Love the cardboard cutout wheel for the LDR.

I was reading the build docs for that the other day and it reminded me why I really am enjoying this hobby: when part of the instructions are telling you which file folder that you can butcher to fashion a non-manufactured part, and you can tell the dude who wrote it spent a lot of time and effort in making sure that they found the actual folder that works best. I love it!

I'm also stoked to see your build report play out here.
 
The shell is ballistic.

I noticed the existing foot switch hole is going to be too close to the pcb, so I'll get out the rotary tool and give it a wee bit more room. Once I'm happy with that I'll measure and drill for the other side. That way they'll be aligned, rather than maligned, misplaced, or even misaligned.

I need to go over the build doc again for sure....I think I ordered whatever I needed, except for that one thing. Almost every build has it, but it varies from pedal to pedal.

I’m really looking forward to eventually building one of these. Still just trying to find a cheap Morley on Facebook marketplace or online
 
After seeing this thread, I put the word out to friends to keep an eye out for a malfunctioning Morley.

I've been half-haphazardly looking myself, but now Fig's put a bee under the bonnet and I figure I'll stand a better chance if more eyes are looking. Fortune favours the prepared.
