Next up is a demo of the other amp in my post the VHT D-Fifty. Which a clone of the Dumble 183 circuit.

Man, I'm really falling in love with this amp. The clean sound is hard to articulate, it's fat, rich, warm, yet glassy and bell like.
Super touch sensitive, lots of great dynamics. Planning to take a peek under the hood and snap some pics for @RetiredUnit1 and also see what the preamp tubes are.

Sounds great! I was getting some fine sounds out of my rig last night. Played for 4 hours, standing, singing. Today I am half dead, lol.

I’ve been intrigued for some time with this amp but I’d find it hard to justify the cost as opposed to pumping that money into a Hiwatt build.

That's what I was playing last night! One of the DR504's I built back in 2008, there was a company that made DR504 clones and they also sold chassis, I bought out the six chassis/faceplate sets they had but then they just sort of faded away and I never made any more. It's nice that Mojo has a kit now....
