This is not the 2020 version but the older one with potentiometer + attiny25 to switch between four modes. I had some problems with this and this project was scrapped for several months. There’s a new 2020 Roboto released this year and it features a 2P4T rotary switch.
I figured since this is an 8-bit processor, I simply used three toggle switches to flip through 8 modes instead of 4. Basically the ht8950 have 3 inputs that are grounded by the switches which selects the modes.
