Had fun with this one! Tried some new olive drab paint which turned out quite nice 136D5450-66E4-4E9C-93A6-4D798BA11808.jpeg

I wanted to do gold accents for this, and had a couple of leftover switch caps that were silver. I moved the enclosure what I thought was far enough away, but a stiff breeze had other thoughts.

Turned out pretty cool, like fools gold! So I rolled with it.

Next was a little text

Then we are on to final assembly. This went easier than expected. I installed the power jack first. Next I pushed the leds through and secured them with tape. Originally, I tried to put the jacks in the enclosure and fit the pcb over, but that was not working out. I ended up installing the jacks on the pcb, and then pushing them into the holes in the enclosure. The pcb slid in like a cassette.

Next time I would drill a slightly large hole for the power jack. That way the plastic power jack housing would be more secure against the enclosure. I would drill much smaller holes for the led light tubes, but this is my first time using them.

I always drill them a bit too small, and then always end up filing too much and having to hot glue them to be secured…

The enclosure turned out lovely, good job!

That's a Swell-looking pedal build!

Utes may very well be my favourite type of "effect" pedal.

TO ALL VIEWING THIS THREAD, CLICK ON THE PICS!
The thumbnails don't do the pedal justice, ya gotta see it big and up close. Must look fab in person.
Thanks for the kind words. I can’t do it justice in these shots.

Some of those lampshades lack enough lip to make a difference....hot glue helps....or makes a huge mess and you end up sticking to everything on the bench....including but not limited to all of the loose components and you best cutters....by now you look like circuitry man....raving like a lunatic...still firmly attached to the enclosure....oh? yes the enclose....the one you're working on is glued to your forearm and it's pulling hairs out due to the excess weight and lack of tensile strength....but not for long because as you swing around it manages to free itself by removing the remaining hairs on your forearm like a 3-day bandaid you forgot about. Don't allow that sense of relief deceive you because at that very moment the build (I use the term only in context) is sailing through your window....the one with the nice view and window box you keep promising to clean out....THAT window.....you instinctively facepalm which is....riIGHT!! a bad idea because those resistors stuck to your phalanges look like something from a Freddy Kruger movie and you just lodged one in your right cornea.

yeah...I like the other kind better.

The leds are supposed to be pink, but they do look more purple. I am not a fan of these specific lenses. I had a smaller hole drilled and couldn’t get the lense through the hole. Drilled the hole bigger and then needed to find an adhesive to stop it flopping around. I don’t like the other kind of metal bezels.
