Duocast Low Cut Knob Issue

Hey everyone, I boxed up this build the yesterday and I'm not sure if I'm going crazy or not with regards to the low cut knob. The pedal itself sounds great, except I can't tell if the low cut knob is doing anything or not. There's barely any difference between the minimum and maximum settings. I have a Simulcast built and it has a seemingly normal sweep for the low cut, where at high settings it can get real jangly, but on the duocast there's still a lot of low end.

Pic too big so I'm using imgur:
The light plate here is being used as a spacer since tayda doesn't sell 1590bbms, with holes cut out to fit the transformer and big cap.

Any suggestions of where to start looking? For sure going to check the resistance on that pot, and then maybe try a different transistor, but any other guidance would be greatly appreciated.
