EBS Dynaverb - digital noise issue.

A friend sent me an EBS Dynaverb pedal for inspection. It's a digital (probably DSP) reverb. It worked flawlessly for a long time, until suddenly some digital noise appeared. I looked inside – there were no signs of damaged components (the capacitors looked fine), and no signs of water damage. Unfortunately, some of the components are hidden under the potentiometers and are inaccessible. The DSP chip is probably there. I recorded a sample… maybe it sounds familiar, and maybe you've had a similar problem (not with this particular pedal).
The board looks like the one in the photo below (I found it online). Interestingly, I found several threads about a similar problem with Dynaverb, but no solutions.

Here's the recording. It starts around 14 seconds, before that there is a bypass.
I checked different power supplies, battery - no difference.
