Echovibe "light box"

I'm wrapping up my echo vibe build right now and was looing at some other companies kits and the original univibes and noticed that they had a little reflective box to go over the photo resistors and bulb.

Do I need to make something like that for mine? Or would being in the dark enclosure be okay?

I was debating on measuring the space and 3d printing a hollow cube to put over them but not sure if that's going to really change the results of this pedal enough!

It depends on the brightness of the light bulb and the sensitivity of the LDR's, and how they interact with each other. The reflective box preserves the available light so the LDR's can react to it more easily, but depending on the spec of the LDR, this may not be what you want. You could try to build a reflective box and see if it makes a difference in the sound of your vibe with and without it.

Makes total sense! I'll put it together without it and see what it sounds like. Printing a little cube won't take too long anyways! Thanks for the quick reply.
