Electro-Faustus EF-111 Guitardammerung P2P build

The P2P builds I’ve been seeing look fun. So I took my first crack at it.

If you’ve ever built the PPCB Schadenfreude, then you know. This is about the nastiest thing there is, but in the most glorious way. A PLL from hell. Not for doing harmonized monophonic synth sounds.

I tried to come up with a layout, but eventually it felt futile. I just had to make choices that I thought wouldn’t paint me into a corner, and figure it out along the way.

I had a spare enclosure to use. It was originally for my PPCB Desolate Fuzz, but I drilled the knobs too low.

Since there was an extra hole, I thought I would be clever and add some diodes on the output of the 4046. But of course, I don’t really know what I’m doing, so all the diodes do is a high pitched oscillation. 🤓🤡

After I flipped the toggle, I was pleasantly surprised that it was working. Also surprised I didn’t overheat one of the ICs.

Since I reused the enclosure, I went with my least desirable cheapo parts.

I had a lot of fun with this. I would probably do p2p again sometime, and try to make it cleaner.
