Elliot Electronics Supply

For anybody who dislikes Taydas new website or doesn't like paying DHL 100 dollars in imports, here's a stateside supplier.

LoveMySwitches and StompBoxParts are also both great specialty shops, but what i love about EES is that they (are based in Tucson, my favorite city) have a resistor and capacitor order page that's intuitive and compact like Taydas old page, with all the values in ascending order and the ability to add qualities up before adding them all to the cart all at once. super helpful and convenient.

It’s cool to know about options like this, I’ll keep it in mind when sourcing parts.

I tried out their resistor page, and unfortunately there’s nothing about it that makes it any faster for me. But I don’t scroll for values, too much slower than ctrl+f. The funky values make it harder to search the page. On Tayda, typing “47k” “470k” takes me right where I want to go. Those values don’t exist on this page. To get to 470k, I have to either go through the 18 results, remember that it’s actually 475k, or scroll.

It could be handy for grabbing some values if I’m ordering something else from them, but might not be great for restocking at 40x cost.

Thanks for sharing the source. Their prices aren’t really competitive with Tayda, though. A 2N3904 transistor is 2¢ from Tayda, but $1.30 from Elliott. LEDs are only available in bulk sets of 100 (or more), but still cost 6 times as much per LED. A 1N4148 is 1¢ at Tayda, but 40¢ from Elliott. I could go on, but you get the picture. I like the idea of a US-based provider, but only if they have competitive pricing, which these guys do not, even with tariffs.

I live in the Tucson area too and Elliott’s has saved me more times than I can count with my builds. They’re not my go to for most parts but, when I forgot something with my Tayda order, Elliott’s usually has what I need. I’m definitely spoiled having a store like that within a short drive.
