End of the year push

I have a similar goal but with fewer boards sitting around. I'm mostly pushing to make room for my first amp build. Gotta make room on the bench, start fresh.

My wife and I don't really do Xmas gifts (for the kids yes just not to one another) as we have always avoided the materialistic side of the holiday. She informed me the other day that a Trinity Triptop kit is currently on its way. Y'all, I'm a lucky man.

Side note, I'm not making this up. She just came home late from yoga because she saw a guy collapse on the sidewalk so she pulled over and gave CPR for 40 min while waiting on the ambulance, she's a nurse btw. Kinda hot that my wife broke some ribs and saved a life this morning. She had flip flops on so her toes were all cut up from the asphalt.

Congrats on the triptop. My trinity TC15 is getting pushed off til next year 😭 I was gonna build it in the 6 weeks I thought I had before my wife's due date but my daughter decided to come before the kit even got here

I have 4 pedals I want to finish by the end of the year: 2X Captain Bits, one Super Heterodyne and a War Scythe. I also have 2X 3-in-1 (Depot, Amentum, XB-MB) that are basically done, I just need to get aluminum knobs and put labels on them.
I think that’s all doable! Last famous words.

Well, I should have finished my Bachelors degree back in spring, but due to multiple breaks from school over the years, I still have at least 4 more semesters to go (probably 5, since some of my credits surely won’t transfer over)— my main goal is getting myself back to a point where I can re-enroll and sign up for classes for the coming semester.

Some other goals are finishing up some loose projects I have (a lap steel I started building in high school and then forgot about; finishing up the shadow box I built for one of my signed drumheads, and making the one for my second signed drumhead as well; rewiring my 12 string and Bass VI, etc), as well as finally placing some Tayda UV print orders.

I’d also like to get my drill press properly working again so I can prepare pen blanks, so I can turn a few dozen pens to give as gifts and to sell on Etsy for the holidays.

1 Remain alive (else the remainder of the list is senseless)
B Find a place to live
III Sort-Pack 32 years of accumulation
0100 Finish one or two of the 20 or so projects at various stages.
🖐 Have a super Christmas giveaway
The house behind me is up for auction for the back taxes. It's a couple acres, has a NICE pond, brook runs through behind the house...

Ok here's 1/12 finished. This isn't a new build exactly, so it's not getting its own build report. I built two of these Madbean retrograde boards early last year, before covid even. One was for my guitar teacher, whose initials are JA, and he's a big Hendrix fan. He had mentioned wanting an Octavia and I went with a sort of "signature pedal"idea so I put his face on it and called it an ocJAvia. He was super thrilled when I gave it to him. He had no idea I was making it. I also built one for myself and it was in an enclosure detailed in this thread so I decided it needed rehoused. The originals also had the graphics put on with some adhesive vinyl stuff I bought at Joann fabrics. Now this one has a proper no film decal.

This was the second ever graphic design I did ever. The inkscape file makes my computer freeze because of how I drew the beard- it's a few thousand lines drawn with the "draw spiral path" tool and contains probably a million nodes. I hadn't discovered the align and distribute tools yet, so everything is eyeball aligned, and as such, the text is too close to the knobs, or under the octave on/off switch as the case may be. So it's going to stay that way because the file is too unstable to go in and muck with it.

For the rehouse, I redid all the wiring and I cleaned the flux off the board. A lot of flux on a white board just looked like rat piss and we can't have that. It's a good sounding fuzz although not my favorite one
