Envelope follower?

I was thinking it'd be cool to have an envelope follower module pcb. It'd be a super cool option to add to any of the phasers, flangers, choruses, filters, etc...

Looking around the internet, I found these:

A simple Piaa one and a disturbingly simple-looking one from here:

888 889

A pretty complicated-looking one by Harry Bissell: muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1511975

Now that I think about it, I wonder if you could cut out the filter section of the Waddle Box or that DOD 440 Envelope Filter to adapt it to work as an envelope follower?

I vote for the Waddle Box (FX25), or CDXL Reissue (newer 440) as they only require a 13700 instead of an expensive vactrol as found in the CDXL Classic (old 440).

Or something else entirely...

What's the difference between an envelope filter and an envelope follower?
An envelope filter is a filter that is modulated by an envelope follower. An envelope follower can be used to modulate other effect types and other parameters though— for example you could have a tremolo pedal with an envelope follower controlling the depth, or maybe the rate. I think the op is asking for an envelope follower PCB that could be used either in its own box to be plugged into an expression pedal input, or put in a pedal build to replace one of the pots (such as the depth pot on a Caesar chorus!)

I second this! I wanted to get a CopilotFX Autodialer for that purpose but I’d rather build one (or 10)!
