External reverb bypass switch

Hello, new here,
I would like to put my Sproing board inside a small solid state amp that I am building and want to be able to control the reverb on/off with an external foot switch to control the bypass, any suggestions as the best or easiest way to do this? Could I insert the switch at the wiper of the reverb control pot?
Thanks, Jim.

Hi Robert,
That's makes sense, I tried breaking the wiper connection and it was causing a minor issue, your solution seem the best way to go. That's what I'll do. Just ordered what I needed.
Thanks very much.

I could use some help with my project if possible. I went with Robert's suggestion to use the latching bypass relay, but there is an issue with it as it won't close when I hit the momentary switch, it just stays in bypass. At one point it did close for a second and the led came on and the reverb was working to the amp, but then it stopped and won't close again. If I just tap the DC in, on and off, I can hear the relay clicking, so I'm wondering if there is a problem with the latching relay. In the parts list the latching relay is noted as a TQ2-L-5V, but I bought the one that was offered on the page which is a Kemet EA2-5SNJ, I'm assuming that is can substitute for the one listed.
Thanks for any input.
Jim
