Extracting FX10 tone control

Hi all, I'm very fond of my DOD FX10, and especially the tone control in it. I want to add the tone control to other circuits I'm experimenting with, but have a question on how to do that. Here's the schematic:

VB is being supplied through the level potentiometer to IC1B (tone circuit), so to extract just the section around IC1B, I'd need to replace the VB->pot with VB->resistor in order to provide a bias. But how would I calculate the resistor value for that? Just use the potentiometer value? I'd like to learn more about this, so any links to write ups or walk thrus would be really appreciated.

You may be overthinking it. If it were up to me I’d add a coupling cap for whatever section you want to put before it (dirt of some kind) and add a bias resistor from 1/2 voltage supply. Instant circuit Lego and a good breadboard candidate.

Haha, probably. Okay, that's pretty much how I was planning to use it. Is the value of the resistor not critical then?
