Finally a Purple NGD and the return of an old friend

Well it's a tele and it has taken a LONG time to get here. I initially ordered the body and neck for this back in January 2018. Due to many boring life reasons this guitar has literally been sat as a pile of bits for 3 years now!!! I dusted them off about two weeks ago and my wife practically ordered me to get this project finished (she claimed this build as hers once it arrived and she saw the colour). I really wish she'd done that sooner it's pretty special.

I dropped it off at the gents down at Feline Guitars in London and four days later I was headed back down to pick it up. Specs for those who are interested

Allparts TRO-Fat U shaped neck
2 piece alder body finished in purple nitro
Fender ashtray bridge
Gotoh intune compensated saddles
Gotoh vintage tuners
Earvana compensated nut
Mojo Pickups '59 tele set
Mojo wiring loom

It's not an easy paintjob to take pictures of it because it shifts between purple, red and sparkling burgundy depending on the light. It's also a very loud guitar, setup with 11s it barks much louder than any other guitar I own.

Only thing it needs now is a logo and loads of playing, I just can't decide what kind of logo I but I'm super happy with how this one has turned out.

I also took a second guitar down with me when I dropped the tele off. I bought this goldtop PRS new back in Feb 2000 and it's been my main guitar since then up until a couple of years ago. I've taken it to every gig I've played since then and is on every record I've ever played on. It's definitely no case queen with loads of dings and has been played so much I've worn through the nitro on the back of the neck. Unfortunately I'd really fallen out of love with this guitar over the last few years because the frets and nut were really badly worn. It was now really uncomfortable to play and the trem would no longer stay even close to being in tune. I've been meaning to get it looks at for a few years now but much like the tele above I've not had the time.

I was pretty nervous they'd find some problems with the knife edge on the trem but Jonathan at Feline has performed a miracle with this guitar. I actually got a little emotional playing it the night I picked it up because it was like getting my old friend back. My wife named this guitar The Sovereign after a gig back in 2005 and the name stuck. I've met Paul Smith a few times and the last time I asked him to sign it for me then covered it in envirotex to preserve the signature.

Spec wise just the electrics have changed with this guitar over the years. The original dragon ii pickups were replaced with Monty's PaFs and I swopped out the rotary switch for a three way after missing both humbuckers on together. I've kept the original pots, ditched the treble bleed and just have it wired up with the 3 humbucker sounds. If I want single coils I just grab a strat or tele and use this or my les paul whenever I need humbuckers.
