First time using strip board-HP-1 circuit, confused about footswitch wiring

I am making my first attempt at wiring a circuit using stripboard.
HP-1 because I like it and it has a reasonable number of components for my pea brain to grasp.
Plugging all the components in is easy, but I am not sure about the footswitch. I have a 3PDT footswitch, how would I wire this up and to where? Explain like I am a 5 year old if possible. Also, is the comment about the input to harmonics 3 and output to balance 2 referencing the in/out jack tip?

Check out the resource here to see a common stripboard wiring scheme.

The input and output are wired to the pots as indicated in the diagram notes.

It's just like any other effect circuit, you just have to wire the indicator LED and current limiting resistor offboard with this layout.

In nearly all stripboard builds there are 4 main wires: input, output, power, and ground. Power and ground are pretty basic. Input and output are in relation to the stomp switch for all intents and purposes, not the jacks. It’s pretty common to have you signal starting/ending on a potentiometer rather than directly to the board.

For output, think volume control. Using the pot as a voltage divider, the main signal would go to lug 3 and the “final” output would be lug 2. Lug 1 in this scenario would be ground.

The same can be said on the input side, but your raw guitar signal would be going into pin 3.
