Foot-activated blend - think A/B/Y in a Crybaby

. . . been scrounging for specs on the dual gang pot - nothin'

Someone have an idea where I might find taper specifics on this thing? I'd prefer to know what I'm getting for a $35 pop.

screw it . . . . popped for the pot, and I'm bidding on a couple of decrepit old cry babies

gonna call it the Cry aby - at worst this will be a volume pedal if the tapers aren't a true stereo pan pot. If any are interested in the guts of the thing (minus what I need to articulate the replacement pot and i/o) I am delighted to pass them on.

I can minimize modifications and use a stereo jack on input for a/b, or I can drill in for a second input jack - care to offer an opinion? On this point I am truly undecided.

yeah, no . . . . I got no impulse control issues.

I can report that the dual gang Ernie Ball 500k pot is a true stereo pan pot - it appears to be an audio taper. The shaft on it is long and cylindrical - no flattened side as I believe the standard Cry Baby pot has got.

I'm going to add a second input jack - wiring up specific cable that I am certain I will misplace seems like a poor choice.

The Cry Baby carcass arrives next week.

Any takers for the internals?

Fun with my Dremel . . . .

Gutted the Cry Baby (harness, jacks, PC board all intact - free still to any one who wants them), but kept the mechanicals to actuate the stereo blend pot. As the original was a single gang I needed to grow the opening to fit the Ernie Ball double gang. So long as I was dremel-ing I eased the flat side of the pot gear to get it onto a round shaft, and used superglue to (hopefully) assure it stays put.

Inconveniently, there are two jack holes on the output side - I need two on the input side. Surgery and soldering tomorrow.

COMPLETE!!!

I can now blend blend between or to two separate individual signals - I am splitting out of and affecting separately the two outputs from my Boss OC-5 into a single mono signal.

Tons of fun!
