I built this pedal about a month ago. I used to have the original pedal (Durham Electronics' Crazy Horse) but sold it a few years ago because it was sitting on my shelf too long. I got the urge to play some Neil Young Weld and Rust type songs and decided instead of purchasing it again, I'd build a clone. So, I purchased the Mad Mule Vertical build and got the full kit (enclosure, parts, etc.) to help speed up the time to play with it.
It's specified as a medium build difficulty but it really came together easily and other than the time I took to paint and apply a decal to it, it would have taken me a few hours from start to finish. The finished pedal does sound exactly as I remember the original sounding. I had forgotten that it is a somewhat noisy pedal but no more noisy than the Drunk Beaver Distortion pedal I've got. It was a fun build and in the end you get a really awesome pedal in a small case that is much more pedal board friendly than the original.
I ended up calling it Wendigo.
