FV-1 Development board mode switch retrofit

The schematic isn't available, so I'm operating under the assumption that the on-off-on mode switch is just setting one of two lines logic high, thus switching between the first three programs on the EEPROM. Is this correct? If so, I was wondering about using an 8 position rotary switch plus supporting logic to enable access to 8 programs (if not, would somebody please set me straight here?). Whatchu think?

Thanks! Yeah, makes sense.
So, I'm next thinking that the FV-1 Dev Board for program development, and Arachnid Multi-F/X for pedal development would provide the flexibility and convenience that I'm after.

If you're going to use one device for programming and another for testing I would have to recommend checking out a TL866 USB EEPROM programmer. You can find them on eBay for around $50.
