(Built this in 2023, just getting around to making build reports for my older stuff)
I ordered this PCB immediately after seeing the UtilityBeltFX demo of it (
) as I am a fan of The White Stripes' earlier stuff.
I was having trouble with a Bumble Buzz build and was excited to build the Argentum so I repurposed the yellow 1590B drilled enclosure I had ordered from Tayda. The Argentum PCB is just a little too big to fit in a 1590B so I (carefully!) sanded down the edges of the PCB to make it fit. Just needed to drill the four potentiometer holes and I was ready to go.
I thought that UtilityBeltFX's idea of using "De Stijl" as the pedal name was an excellent idea, however I wanted the pedal art to better reflect the De Stijl art style (and better reference the White Stripes album art) so I started layering on thinner strips of black textured paper and painted bright colors in the boxes created by the lines. The control labels are also paper, modpodged on.
(Looking at this now, the input jack is extremely close to the Volume pot. It was either not an issue or I later corrected it as the pedal works great now. Lol)
As far as the pedal's sound, I'm extremely happy with it. I like to use it as a pre-amp, feeding directly to the Power Amp In jack on my Boss Katana Mk2 head, even through its not technically meant for that.
