gain on Purple Plexi 800 circuit not changing.

I just finished a version of the Purple Plexi 800.

The gain pot makes little to no difference in the gain amount until the last (approximately) 10% of the rotation.

It called for a B1k pot.

What potentiometer (value & type) would you guys use to help better spread out the gain across the range of the pot?

If you're having that sort of problem, a C taper (reverse taper) usually sorts it.
