GCI MT-2 drill template error

I was hoping to finish this up this weekend for my brother in law, but I hit a road block when I went to drop the board in the box.

As near as I can tell the indicated hole location for the toggles is off on the drill template by half a hole diameter. Per the listed dimensions and my print, the toggles should sit .400” higher than the lower pots.

Measuring from the PCB, that distance looks to be about .275.

I can probably slot the toggle holes down .125 and put the big ugly tab-washers on there and just about cover the mess, but I’m not thrilled about it. I’d just drill another enclosure, but this glow in the dark one was a customer request and I’ve just got the one.

If I take the toggles out all the pots line up good, so the rest of the template seems right.

I’ve seen that drill error mentioned on the GCI Facebook group. Can you just bend the pot legs forward a bit? I’ve done that a handful of times

First time I’ve regretted getting off Facebook!

I don’t think bending pot legs would have cut it in this case, particularly with the dual gang pot.

I milled the holes down .125, cut the tabs off the washers, and as long as I push up on the washers while I tighten the nuts I think my sins will stay hidden.

Gotta do what works.
I've been considering stocking a few pc pin toggles for stuff like this. I *feel* like I could carefully bend them to accommodate some error.
Edit. Autocorrecteded.
