CONTEST Germania

CONTEST
Now here's a word from our sponsor, Rice-a-Roni the San Francisco treat!

You folks are too kind...I'm just giving back, and fun is....uh...funner.

Don't forget to submit your graphic ideas next door on @jjjimi84 's contest!

Now watch Hypnotoad. Why? Because I said so!

hFE 77
mA .067 Luke Cage

It should be noted I have ZIP-ZERO-NADA knowledge backing those numbers — A total random shot in the dark, but who's to blame? Carlinb17 had my numbers for the game; I changed one up for this guessin' game, uneducated guessin' game.

Since there's a delay with the BBD contest ( progress is being made....there is an expert on it ), I just finished testing and cataloguing a lot of 50 Germanium PNP MP21As, so let's do some contesting!

I loaded the values into my Ge stash spreadsheet, and retrieved the average GAIN and LEAK values.

That's where YOU come in. No...not them....yes YOU!

The 3 closest guesses to average GAIN and LEAK between the time of this post and Midnight, Friday July 30th (this Friday) will each win a $25 PedalPCB gift card. If you guess both values exactly...yeah right!*

Now, some of you are thinking "I don't even know what's in the ballpark or what units to use" ...I know because I can read minds....Here's your chance to learn enough Germanish to impress the neighbor's dog! I gave you the part number above. Find the datasheet, it might have a clue on the GAIN. LEAK values are fairly unpredictable, but I'll tell you that they are all below .120mA [ µA values acceptable...please denote ]. Gain values are simply integers.

If you want to learn more about these components and their attributes, I highly recommend starting here;

Happy contemplation!

*Say wha?.....It's possible you say? Do it and you'll also win a $100 gift card to PedalHacker's store to buy groovy mojo doodads. Zippety-do-dah!
If it is one under .100mA, is it .99mA or .099mA????

If it is "one under" .100mA , wouldn't that imply a reciprocal value?

.100mA / 1 ? ;)

Or ... .100 - 1 = -.99

However, .100 - .001 = -.099

Excellent point (or decimal)!

For these purposes, one less than .100mA is .099mA, but it's cool! 99 would be considered .099.

(except Stickman or anyone who specified microamps)

There's a delay with the BBD contest, how appropriate.

The Germanium game's pic has 3 values fuzzed out, and apparently the game has a lot of math involved — I guess the math's germane but appropriately I'm a little fuzzy on it all. Great contest for the dirt poor!

Maybe the next contest will be about solder-station GAS and have some silicon implanted into it.

I only asked as there maybe some confusion with the Members leakage values.
No confusion, I amended my post yesterday after I appreciated my base-8 initial calculations resulted in a scaling error of 10….

...Yeah, okay I got confused, I admit it!
