GODCITY instruments MT2 not right.

The mids knob and the shape knob right before it do nothing at all.im no good at pedal building but am slowly getting into it.i bought this off reverb and want to figure out how to fix it.and diagnose it.so I can fix it...I thank you all kindly in advance.

Here's a few pics.ill havta take it completely apart tomorrow to get all the rest of the pics.and try to get super clear shots as well.thetes seems to be a possible issue w th grounding I noticed at th top.thetes only solder on 1 of th ground spots.and not no wire or anything soldered to th other ground spot next to it.my other pedals usually have both ground spots soldered.maybe this is an issue.he has tape on one of the wires hooked to the 9 v power source.maybe one of these wires are sposed to go to ground.and make it all come alive? ...hehehe..I doubt.afyer we deal w this pedal.ive got a G.C.I. - HM1 pedal that th pots don't seem to be doing what I'd think they should do.and they make weird noises(not dirty pot noises either...lol) they make a crappy sound thruout th whole pots duration and th sound each pot produces just makes th pedal suck honestly.th distortion is just crappy sounding.and it's supposed to be a boss ds-1 w a boss hm2 e.q. tonestack I do believe.but well cross that bridge when we come to it.im going to post about it w pics after this one is more fleshed out.so I can take th time and try my best to follow all of your insights and advice properly as I know just about zero about fixing pedals.but I do know what each component is and kinda what they do sorta.by studying them a bit for quite awhile to get it in memory.and I'm practicing my soldering skills alot more lately a well.so I can tackle this issue and hopefully fix it.and not wreck it more than it is...lol.take care all.hope you all have a wonderful day.

Ya,he used a lot of wire...I'm going to in-house th whole thing and try to take pics w my other phone.these pics are th best this phone will do period unfortunately I can't afford an apple I phone 12 or whatever number it is now...lol.but I can try with a different phone or my tablet to try to get less blurry photos.idk why this phone did that cuz it's new...makes no sense unless it's just crap too...idk.but once i get it unhoused and can maybe take some pics w th wires out of th way somewhat to th best of my ability.ill b back to try again tomorrow.

Are the center clipping LEDs illuminated?
If so, that would indicate DC being in the audio path.
Edit. That's not the best phrasing. Still early.
But, assuming hard clipping, looks like something is shorted around that part of the circuit

It powers on and gets sound thru it all, but th mid knob and th other tone knob don't do anything at all.before I take it completely apart today to take better pics,I'll look at the l.e.d. inside and see if anything lights up when I power it on.
