Yet another mashup, this time Barry's NT Dumbletone and Compressor boards with order switcher.
I tried to fit the whole shebang into a 1590BB and discovered in the course of fitting the boards that the enclosure's too shallow to accommodate the jacks. Lumbergs might work but I've run out of them for the moment.
The BD clearly requires a 1590BBS or BB2, but I thought it worth a shot to try the shallower enclosure in any case. Quite a tense mission to accommodate all three boards, to be expected in trying to fit them into an enclosure just a little too small for these purposes. I'll rehouse it later.
The verdict: I enjoy the wide range of sounds available (from mild to obvious overdrive) and the order switcher adds versatility (pre into compressor or vice versa). Putting the compressor first in the order gives a fairly subtle reduction, adds sustain, as one might expect and doesn't make the compression too obvious.
Four stars because of the fitment hassles, entirely my own making.
