Greer Ghetto Stomp/PPCB Slumlord

I am about to build the PedalPCB Slumlord/Ghetto Stomp. It requires an audio taper pot for the volume control and 100k linear pots for the gain and tone controls. I do not have 2 100k linear taper pots but I do have one of each taper. So, my question is, which control, gain or tone, would be better to the use the audio taper pot for?

Gain.

To be honest, audio taper is probably a better choice than linear for the gain control anyway.
