I've been searching for a pedal that captures the peculiar qualities of the Bassment without being too bass-heavy. This beast comes close in its glassy mids and isn't overbearing in the low end. The lower setting is more than palatable for my Tele but very noice for bass guitar, imparting a certain fuzzy glow that warms things up and sits nicely.

Not being a high-gain aficionado, I didn't find the upper setting (Marshall, I presume) very useful at first try. But through @bean's Kompromat it's much more to my liking. There seems to be less of a disparity in volume between the two settings (naturally enough, with the compressor in place) and a wider range of useful toans. Since this is a matter of personal taste, YMMV.
