I guess I am going to build a Caesar after all...

I've been checking availability of transistors and ICs before deciding whether or not to build anything - I don't want to buy a PCB and have it sit unused while I wait for some unobtainium part to maybe one day be available for an acceptable amount of money.

The problem with that is that if I see something rare that's available and reasonably affordable I tend to hit BUY before it can sell out. Which is what I just did. Was still "thinking about" Julia / Caesar / wibbly wobbly chorussy things, but I found an eBay seller right here in Melbourne Australia, with the items in stock and not ruinously expensive. Also with believable positive feedback. AU$15.30 post inc. That's US$11.05 at today's rates, a bit pricey but not outrageous. So I will soon be in possession of the elusive 3102+3207 combo.

(Actually, while I typed that I got a message from the seller who had in fact sold out of 3102s and offered me a refund, or that I could wait till he got some more in, in "a couple of weeks". Which is what I chose, no hurry for me.)

I also found a Chinese seller selling 5 of each for a few bucks, and since they had quite a lot of good feedback I decided to buy some to check. Yes; I do like to gamble as long as the stakes are low. Shenzen is currently locked down due to an outbreak of Covid, so it could be quite a while before they show up... (or maybe I'll get the Chinese ones before the locals.)

Now I'm thinking about a Woodpecker / EQD Hummingbird clone. 2N5089 - got some. 2N6027 - local source identified. PF5102... hmmm...
