How do I identify whether a DPDT switch is "On-Off-On" vs "On-On-On"? I have a black DPDT switch marked MTS-2 but it has no identifying markers for which option it is. Any help would be appreciated!

Reverse Engineer
Switch it to the middle position.
If it's On/OFF/On you won't measure continuity between the middle and top or bottom lugs on either side.
If it's On/ON/On you'll measure continuity between the middle and either top or bottom lugs, depending on whether it's Type 1 or Type 2.
If it's On/OFF/On you won't measure continuity between the middle and top or bottom lugs on either side.
If it's On/ON/On you'll measure continuity between the middle and either top or bottom lugs, depending on whether it's Type 1 or Type 2.

You're correct. It was On/On/On Type 1.
