Informant zero gain mod

Hey all, recently built the informant (drv) and really enjoying it, but have just been reading about the zero gain mod from 1981:
"When you turn the DRV knob all the way down, it takes all of the distortion side of the circuit, and you only hear the preamp. In order to get a useful sound out of this mode, you need to completely open up the CUT knob (turn it all the way down)"

This is a mod that he's putting in some versions of the drv, but I was wondering how I might achieve this mod in the informant, or whether it's possible at all?

Thanks in advance

The drive stage opamp should have just over unity gain with the drive pot turned down.
I don't know that a mod is needed
Maybe he's paralleling the drive pot of a different value and a different value R9 to get it to a true gain of 1 instead of 1.1ish?

Actually with a stock version at minimum gain you'll have it somewhere around 20 before the clipping diodes. So there should be some light overdrive at minimum gain.

I assumed when he said you only hear the preamp it meant the first gain stage. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't something as simple as removing the 1k and replacing it with a jumper in the second gain stage. Does anyone know if the DRV has been tweaked at all since the trace was made?
