Jangle box not jangling

Hi, I recently assembled a pcb through EasyEDA and it's not working properly. I hope someone here can help.

I took the schematic from Pedal PCB but made 4 obvious mistakes:
  • Connected (-) input to c100 positive side (instead of c100 positive side to (+) input and negative to (-).
  • Forgot to connect q2 to c9 + side.
  • C2 is backwards
  • c101 is a 4.7uf (as I didn't have a spare 2u2). Would chaning the value of this affect the pedal?
Both these have been fixed but the pedal doesn't quite work. The output is extremely low. However If i connect ground to the base of Q4 or Q3 i get an extremely distorted audio signal for a few seconds. Also if I connect VCC to Q2 collector and c9 + side i also get distorted audio for a few seconds.

Connecting VCC gives me a very splattery fuzz sound which is pretty good actually, but not what I was expecting here (and collector of Q3 gives an octave fuzz sound which I really like).

I assume that the transistors are not biased properly and that voltage is disappearing, but I hope that someone smarter than me can help.

I have checked all components and the are correct, and I have connection with a DMM for every part.

Transistor voltages are:

Q1
C - 8.7
B - 2.4
E - 1.8

Q2
C - 7.4
B - 1.93
E - 1.36

Q3
C - 8
B - .08
E - 0

Q4
C - 8
B - .08
E - 0

Q5
C - 8.7
B - about 8. Varies
E - about 8. Varies

The voltages are a bit weird as between q3 and they seem to ramp up or ramp down. It seems like the voltage is going somewhere, I just don't know where.

It's quite strange. I get very low output on the audio signal, until I randomly touch some components which seems to give the pedal enough juice to run for a few seconds. r6 and c6 for example when connected will give enough power for a distorted audio signal for a few seconds.

I seem to get an audio signal fine up to base of q3 (although distorted octave sound) and again at the base of q4 but not in between them both. I assume the signal stops at q3 as it's not biased properly and is not making it's way to q4. I think the signal on q4 is due to the jumper from q2 to c9.
