This pedal would also be very appealing and my next choice. But what is actually in it? Just another variation of fuzz face or tone bender? Anyone knows it? Kingtone isn't exactly known for its own designs.

From the description, it sounds like an FF but with a bagazillion mods and options (switchable Germanium and Silicon transistors, external bias control, multiple tone toggles, a “battery simulator” (whatever that is. “Helps DC sound like a battery” just feels hella marketing speak), switchable output buffer - did I miss anything?)

The (apparently patent pending) bias indicator light sounds clever and useful, I guess it changes color if you’re under biased, just right, or over biased

It's not really a "battery simulator". Based on what I'm reading, it sounds more like a buffer or the like that helps make the DC work like a battery in that it doesn't get all the nastiness that comes with DC. So, yeah, you're right...pretty much marketing speak.

I have this pedal and it's quite remarkable. If I had to guess, I'd say it's typology is more along the lines of a Fuzz Face than anything. Probably one of the best Fuzz Face alternatives out there. Quite flexible with some incredible tones under the hood. Really need to play with the DIP switches more though. There's a LOT to be had with this one.
