For years the forum has had people begging for one of the many 1176 flavored Compressor pedals. But how about the other uber-classic studio compressor that’s a favorite of guitarists: the iconic LA-2A. The original is admittedly a tad bit complicated for trying to fit into a tiny box, but there are two modern takes that fit the bill and fit the box:
One uses a sub-mini tube, while the other likely swaps the tubes for FETs. Here’s the og schematic, for reference.
And, @Robert if you really wanna get fancy— *the* McGuinn 12 string sound is a pair of these in series. If you want a challenge, it would be rad if you were able to do a two-in-one (stacked boards? The one without tubes?) take on it that fit a 1590BB (or 125B )
